Field Day 2005

Our annual particpation in Field Day was held on June 25th to 25th, 2005. We were operating on the grounds of the Masonic Hall on Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush with two HF stations, one for 10/15/20 meters and a second for 40/80 meters; we also had on-hand VHF/UHF.

We had set-up both a delta-loop and a bazooka for 40/50 meters and a Mosley tri-band beam for 10/15/20 meters.

The weather was sunny and hot, with one light shower holding off until we were dismantling the antennas (always fun to be holding a beam with thunder rumbling in the background).

Operations were continuous throughout Field Day, starting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 25th, opearating all night, and ending at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th. A picnic followed while we dismantled the site.

Looking for Donations

EGARA is looking for some donations toward the purchase of a tower and radio equipment for our field day program. We were given a Mosley tri band beam and now we need something to get it up in the air. Tom, KC2FCP is investigating a surplus crank up type and will return next month with facts and figures. Early estimates are around $500.00. Anyone who would like to contribute please contact donations@w2egb.org
